Balance

Balance is a very important part of daily life from a child’s first attempt at standing to an adult’s active lifestyle. Pilates improves balance as the body is increasingly challenged to use the core torso muscles, called the Powerhouse in Pilates, in executing exercises such as Pull-Ups on the Cadillac.

Balance within the body is also very important in Pilates. Driving in a car, sitting in front of a computer, carrying a child and other daily routines create imbalances in our bodies. If left unaddressed, these imbalances can lead to discomfort, pain or injury.

Practiced regularly, Pilates can correct any imbalances in order to prevent and/or rehabilitate chronic or acute injuries, such as scoliosis, arthritis, lower back pain, disc injuries, shoulder or knee pain, and many others.
